Primitive Stuff - Combined, Katie and Cindy have 71 years as public school teachers and administrators. They met when they were assistant principals in the same high school in Rochester, New York. Cindy made the first loom in the fall of 2000 after Katie saw one on display at a fabric store in Ohio. Katie made the first placemat on that loom.

Although they have had many requests to produce different fabric products, it is their belief that "it is better to teach a man to fish so eats for a lifetime, rather than give him a fish and he eats for a day." Consequently, Primitive Stuff was born in 2003 and Cindy and Katie have been sawing, drilling, sanding, staining, nailing and weaving ever since.
