Robin Blakney-Carlson

Robin Blakney-Carlson is a felting instructor and fiber artist at Luckystone Feltworks Studio in the Shirt Factory in Glens Falls, New York. Her passion for feltmaking began innocently enough 20 years ago, at a family workshop mentored by her sister Polly Stirling- the internationally known “inventor” of nuno felt.

Robin continued her study with many master feltmakers. As her felting experience grew, so did her itch to share technique. With Polly's urging, Robin opened Luckystone Studio in 2006, where she's beenindoctrinating feltmakers for the past decade, in addition to venues throughout the US and Australia.

Robin is drawn to combining fibers and textiles in wearable art and felt collage. She is excited to share her passion for feltmaking.  Robin's award winning feltwork has been represented in exhibitions and galleries in New York and New England. Robin is President of Northeast Feltmakers Guild.

She makes her home in Glens Falls, NY with her husband Harry and their fiber herd: 2 pseudo-sheep Bedlington Terriers (Olive and Ziggy the studio dog), Mushi and Jazzy Maine Coon Cats.
