You will make this lovely work of art during this half day workshop. This piece uses a method most needle felters haven’t considered  before.  The Purple Finches are needle felted onto wool fabric, then cut out and hand stitched to the silk which is pre-embroidered with the branches. We will mat your piece before you leave so that it is ready for framing. The finished art is 9 ½ “ x 7 ½ “, once matted it will measure 14” x 11”.

Needle felting uses a barbed needle to embed wool roving through a background fabric. You need to be able to work in small detail for this project but all levels of experience are welcome from novice to expert. The hand sewing can be accomplished by even a non-sewer, so don’t let that frighten you.

Experience Level:  novice to expert
