Wash & Dye: An Exploration Into the Effects that Wool Shampoos Have on Dyes - Fri AM - SOLD OUT LIMITED

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Limited Capacity seats available

This workshop is a great way to try washing and dying unprocessed fleece for the first time or, for the more experienced, to try something new.

From the the natural soap methods of the Fermentation Suint Method (FSM) and innovative cosmetic grade shampoos designed to brilliantly absorb dye, there are a lot of options for washing fleece.

In this explorational workshop, we will begin with 3 unwashed breed samples that will each be cleaned using a variety of commercial wool scours. A discussion of the benefits of the FSM and instruction for trying it at home will also be covered.. Once clean, our samples will be split up and dyed for comparison. Emphasis will be placed on note taking and instructional accuracy to achieve repeatable results.

Level of Experience: All levels
