So you have decided that you would love to have some sheep! Owning a flock of sheep has many benefits as well as many challenges.  Whether you plan on having just a few sheep as a hobby or going into a larger flock as a business, many of the considerations are the same. But in both cases it is a responsibility as well. We will discuss the questions that are often asked of shepherds and answer questions from the group. Be prepared to take notes.

Sheep Breed Display: Mini Cheviot, Shepherds Croft Farm
We have represented the American Miniature Cheviot breed here for many years. These small (23"sheared shoulder) sheep are a dual purpose sheep but we breed mainly for fleece quality. Cheviot wool is a medium grade with a 3-4" staple, soft, a has a helical crimp that makes it easy to spin. Their small size makes them easy to handle and even the rams have a good disposition.
